Apple will start removing unidentified apps that no longer function as intended,outdated or don’t follow current review guidelines. Apple’s App Store is home to more than a million apps, and so as you might expect, it might be difficult to navigate through those apps to find what you're looking for.
According to an email distributed to developers, in order to make it easier for customers to find the apps they need and want, Apple as of September 7 will begin implementing a couple of changes.
We are implementing an ongoing process of evaluating apps, removing apps that no longer function as intended, don’t follow current review guidelines, or are outdated, – Apple (in the email)Apple will also put in place a character length limit of 50 characters for an app’s name in response to some developers that have been gaming the system by creating extremely long app names with loads of keywords in hopes of boosting search visibility.
